Good day! I am Patricia Miguelle Z. Castillo. I am 19 years old. I am a 2nd year Bachelor of Multimedia Arts (BMMA) student at Malayan Colleges Laguna. I took the BMMA program because I’ve dreamt of becoming a scriptwriter, and a film or theater director.
Nonetheless, I would like to explain further the reasons behind the said dream of mine. Becoming a scriptwriter, and a film or theater director are not my first dream. Instead, it is to be a children’s book writer. Because back then, I was fascinated by the stories and illustrations in my children’s book. Thus, I also want to create my own. But, I’ve realized that I am an ironic person. I am so fond of writing, but I don’t like reading. I am more into the visual side of arts; which is watching films. So, I changed my dream; from children’s book writer to a film or theater director. Because I don’t want to read my stories. Rather, I want to watch them.
However, despite me wanting to be a film or theater director. My passion since then is writing. I cannot remember when did it start. Maybe because back then, I don’t have someone to listen to me. So, instead of talking, I prefer writing my thoughts. Therefore, I added being a scriptwriter as one of my dreams. Because, I really love writing. And scripts are meant to become a film. Thus, it is a win-win situation for me. As I am able to do the things that I love.
To conclude everything, I am passionate in writing, but I don’t like reading. Thus, in conclusion, I don’t want to read my stories. Rather, watching them is the better option for me. So, my dreams include; becoming a scriptwriter, and a film or theater director.
